O.O.N.A is een grafisch ontwerpbureau gevestigd Rotterdam, opgericht in 2009 door Merijn van Essen en Sander van Loon.
In onze ontwerpen staat het onderzoek centraal, binnen dit onderzoek stellen we kaders vast en zoeken we hierin de uiterste grenzen en verbindingen op. Die kunnen gaan over identiteit, communicatie en technieken.
Naast deze onderzoekende rol vinden wij onze idealen in experimentele reproductietechnieken, die tot uiting komen in verschillende vormen van media. Een voorbeeld hiervan is de oprichting van de Mesh Print Club. Mesh Print Club is ontstaan vanuit de fascinatie voor archaïsche druktechnieken, die worden gedeeld binnen het platform de Mesh Print Club.
O.O.N.A. is a graphic design office initiated by Merijn van Essen and Sander van Loon
in 2009 and located in Rotterdam.
The designs solutions that we create are based upon thurough research where we establish a new frame work to explore and investigate the limitations and posibilities of the problem at hand.
In aditition to research we find it important to explore and experiment with experimental reproduction techniques, these investigations take us to many different media types. For this reason we’ve stablished a small silkscreen foundation called the Mesh Print Club. Mesh Print Club was born from our fascination with archaic printing processes from fax machines, risographs to traditional silkscreen printing.
